Perfect Private Unit in Passaic

Great price, clean, great parking. Would stay again. Positive: Nice and cool, great AC. Great that parking was available around back. Negative: Maybe more seating or another couch.

When we arrived at the property the parking lot that is provided is not clearly marked and is not big enough for an average vehicle it took me about 10 minutes to get my truck to fit in the spot due to all the other cars parked in the lot that is including a school bus with the mirrors that stick out very far. Was very difficult to walk up the very tight spiral wooden rickety staircase with luggage to the third floor. When we finally made it into our house the air conditioning was pretty much turned off and was 80° in the apartment and it took till about three in the morning to finally cool off. When taking a shower there are only two settings burning hot and lava there was absolutely no cold water at all. The shower water pressure was barely anything. I had to take a shower by running the water for a minute then shutting it off doing my shampoo turn it back on turn it off again soap up then turn it back on rinse off so I don’t burn my skin. There were nails sticking out of the molding going into the shower that could easily rip someone’s leg open. I felt like I could not walk on the floors in my bare feet because I felt like I was stepping on dirt. The beds were comfortable but I chose to use my own bedsheets and pillows because I did not trust what they provided even though it did look clean. One day we came back to have another car parked in the one and only spot available so I had to park on the lawn or I would’ve parked a mile away from the house and had to walk in the semi dangerous streets of the town. Another issue is there are not enough electrical outlets in the bedrooms I had to run a 20 foot cord to be able to charge my cell phone next to my bed. And the only TV in the house is in the living area there were no other amenities provided in any rooms. Whoever washes the towels does not use any kind of scent so the towels smelled weird and I did not want to use them so I went to Walmart and bought my own. I now understand why the price is the way it is.

If you want to stay at a cold semi clean apt with a rude host this is the place for you. Positive: The distance to my destination Negative: First off be prepared for a work out as the steps leading up to the place are killer. Secondly, going in it was fairly clean however the floor had hair and some dirt so I had to sweep the floor. Be sure to wear socks/ slippers ,otherwise your feet will be black on the bottom. The bathroom was ok, the shower floor was disgusting, had to lay a towel down. The bed rooms were dusty and sheets had a few stains. Thank goodness I brought my own set to sleep on. There are also no curtains which I believe also contributed to the overall cold apartment as well as the rude comments from the host. The place was freezing. I turned the thermostat on high and it was still very very cold even after hours of having it on. I kindly messaged the host asked the if this was normal for this place and if so is there another way to heat the apartment quicker. He then replied, “ There are 2 different heating sources up there. Gas and electric and no one all winter has said it's cold and it's been much colder than this weekend.” EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNACCEPTABLE. Mind you it was snowing/ freezing rain and 25-30mph winds all weekend. I didn’t know it could get colder than that but apparently so. Either way no one else was in the apartment but me and it was COLD TO ME. Overall one star for distance. Zero for the host. Would not recommend or return ever.
